The Sonic Spectators app allows users to listen to their workout and practice music and add in the sounds of a crowd and commentators to give them that extra incentive to train harder. The sounds played could be tied to simple measurements the phone could make based on location and accelerometer data (the position of the listener, speed of the listener, etc.)

To help release the Sonic Spectators app, print ads showing users at peak performance despite being by themselves to portray what happens when you use the app.


Outdoor

To promote the Sonic Spectator’s app, Skullcandy will crash an outdoor basketball league in Chicago. In the same way that the app gives users the feeling of performing on a grand stage, 5,000 fans and the Chicago Bulls in-game production team will show up to a rec-league game and give it a professional atmosphere. This amateur game will have fans, music, a P.A. announcer, Benny the Bull, and even the T-shirt cannons at halftime.
